Physical Development:

 

To meet your child’s physical development, Tiny Turtles Preschool provides interest areas in the classroom to explore safely and engage in activities that support learning objectives, creativity, and imagination.  Opportunities to participate in music and movement and fine motor activities are a part of your child’s daily routines, as well as, play time on the playground to develop and strengthen gross motor skills such as walking, climbing, throwing, and catching.

Physical Milestones:

Our goal milestones we hope to help your child accomplish include (but are not limited to):

  • Walk without assistance
  • Dance to music
  • Stack blocks to build a tower
  • Begin self help skills when being dressed
  • Enjoys finger painting
  • Uses a spoon/fork to eat

Language Development:

To meet your child’s language, Tiny Turtles Preschool will repeat what your child says correctly.  For example, if your child says “ju-ju”, we will say in response “Do you want your juice?”  We will read throughout the day engaging in discussing pictures/words and asking questions.  We will sing songs; act out finger-plays; use props during story or conversation times.

Language Milestones:

Our goal milestones we hope to help your child accomplish include (but are not limited to):

  • Use gestures and language to communicate
  • Put two word sentences together to express needs and desires
  • Responds to simple questions
  • Asks questions to engage adults in conversations
  • Show an interest in books and pictures by pointing and naming pictures
  • Enjoys music, songs, finger-plays

Intellectual Development:

To meet your child’s intellectual development,
Tiny Turtles Preschool will offer toys that represent real objects in his/her home such as play telephones, play food, etc. Our classroom is equipped with many props for make-believe play.  Pretending lays the foundation for advanced thinking skills.

 

Intellectual Milestones:

Our goal milestones we hope to help your child accomplish include (but are not limited to):

  • Understand objects still exist when out of sight
  • Imitate actions of others
  • Pretend play
  • Recognize toys and personal belongings
  • Refer to self by name

Social/Emotional Development:

To meet your child’s social/emotional development, Tiny Turtles Preschool will introduce concepts such as “taking turns” and “sharing.”  Your child will have an established routine and structure throughout the day that offers predictability.  We encourage self-help skills such as feeding himself/herself, hand washing, dressing.

Emotional Milestones:

Our goal milestones we hope to help your child accomplish include (but are not limited to):

  • Enjoys being around classmates
  • Begins to feel secure and comfortable with teachers and other adults
  • Recognize feelings of others
  • Enjoy playing games, playing with adults, laughing
  • Follows simple rules

Each child reaches his/her milestones at an individual pace.  Our responsibility is to encourage your child and provide a loving, rich, and safe environment.  We conduct parent/teacher conferences throughout the school year to provide helpful information and answer any questions or concerns you may have regarding your child and his/her development.

Toddlers 1 to 2 Years of Age Preschool Curriculum

This is a busy year for your little one! Before your eyes, your baby has turned into a toddler who walks, talks, and lets you know exactly how he/she feels. Toddlers are striving to discover who they are and how to exert their independence and control. Tiny Turtles Preschool of Jupiter offers activities for preschoolers that support physical, language, cognitive, and social/emotional early child development. We will provide an environment that is clean and offers safe choices and routine experiences. Toddlers love routine and knowing “what will happen next.”

Tiny Turtles Preschool of Jupiter’s goal is to provide an enriching early childhood educational experience with a well-balanced, unique curriculum dedicated to the development of infants and young children. Our Creative Curriculum is based upon the natural ways in which children learn along with a print-rich environment for future school readiness. Our state-of-the-art program offers thematic units involving computer labs, reading, writing, arts & crafts, math, science, music, physical education, library, dramatic play and age appropriate separate playgrounds.
